On Monday, January 18, we celebrate the birthday and life of Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was a minister, activist, and leader in the Civil Rights Movement, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 for his anti-racism work. He fought against racial segregation and economic inequality through non-violent methods like boycotts and sit-ins until his assassination in 1968.

During the month of January, the Knight-Capron Library is celebrating the life and work of Martin Luther King Jr. through a digital slideshow created and curated by our Access Services Assistant/Night Supervisor, Angela Arthur. This slideshow features images as well as QR codes that link to resources about Dr. King's life in our library catalog, including books and streaming video. You can see the slideshow by visiting the library building, or by checking out our MLK Lib Guide at this link

If you visit the physical library, you can also see our Martin Luther King Jr. Day poster and check out items from our display, such as the 2014 Academy Award winning film Selma or Becoming King by Troy Jackson.
