Works Cited Page

  • The Works Cited page should be the very last page of the paper and have Works Cited centered at the top. Do not bold, italicize, or underline Works Cited.
  • The sources should be listed in alphabetical order
  • A reference on a works cited page generally includes information such as the author's name, title of the work, the publisher, date accessed, date published, volume number, and source title if applicable
  • Author's names should be formatted Last Name, First Name
  • For two authors, use 'and.' The second author's name is listed First Name and Last Name. Use 'et al.' for three or more authors

Books:

Book with one author:

Last name, First name. Title in Italics. Publisher, date of publication. 

Book with two authors:

Last name, First name, and First name Last name of second author. Title in italics. Publisher, date of publication. 

Book with three or more authors:

Last name, First name, et al. Title in italics. Publisher, date of publication. 

 

Journal Articles:

Online journal accessed through a database:

Last name, First name. "Title of Journal Article." Journal name in italics, volume, number, year published. pp. Database accessed, DOI or URL.            Accessed date. 

 

Websites:

Website with the author's name:

Last name, First name. "Title of Article." Website in italics, date written, URL. Accessed date. 

Website with no known author:

"Title of Article." Website in italics, date written. URL. Accessed date. 

 

*Accessed date is formatted day month year. For example, 31 October 2020.
