- A valid University of Lynchburg ID card is required to check out library items.
- Guest borrowers may not check out Library material until after the Spring 2021 semester.

The Library will not offer course reserve services during the Spring 2021 semester.
Renewals
- Items may be renewed if they are not on hold for other users. Login to your Library account to renew online.
Returns
- Items may be returned to:
- the Circulation Desk bookdrop
- the outside bookdrop next to Library front entrance
- the outside bookdrop facing Hobbs-Sigler Hall
- All items returned to bookdrops will be quarantined for at least three (3) days before checkin.
Fines
- The Library is not charging daily fines in Spring 2021. However, users are liable for replacement and processing costs for lost and damaged items.
Lost and Damaged Items
- Library items are billed once they are 30 days overdue. The user's account will be charged the replacement cost for the item plus a $25 non-refundable processing charge per item.
- Users will be charged for materials which are returned damaged. If an item is repairable, the user will be charged for the cost of the repairs only. If an item is beyond repair, the replacement cost will be charged. All materials remain the property of the Library.
- Users who return items without a barcode will be charged $1 per barcode.
Security System
All library materials are protected by the Checkpoint Security System. An alarm will sound if materials are removed from the Library without first being checked out. The theft or mutilation of library materials, as well as any attempt to circumvent the security system, is a violation of the Honor Code and will be treated as such.
Non-circulating Materials
Materials in the following collections are non-circulating and must be used in the library:
- Archives
- Microforms
- Special Collections
