Hello, This Research Guide for Chemistry was created by Mike Ours, the liaison librarian to the Chemistry Department.  Feel free to contact me for help (see my contact info under my picture to the right).  If I am unavailable please contact any of the other librarians via the links to the Reference Desk in the lefthand column.

If you are looking for help in starting your library research, I recommend starting with a short article in a specialized encyclopedia for back ground information: Starting Your Research.

If you have a good idea about the basic background of your topic and want to find books that you can checkout, start with a keyword search of the Library Catalog: Books

If you need to find journal and magazine articles, you have several options.  The basics are explained here: Articles

What Else Can the Library Do?

RefWorks will make creating a List of References for your papers very easy.It will also keep track of the information you find. For information on creating your account: RefWorks Tutorial

Library Access (for finding library resources from off-campus)‚Äč:

Research Appointment: If you would like to schedule a one on one meeting with a librarian to help with the whole research process, please complete the Request for Research Assistance form.

Interlibrary Loan: If an article or book you need is NOT available through the sources the Library owns, we will borrow it (for books) or get a copy (for articles) from another library. This is easily done from the search results in OneSearch.
